Love, Romances & More - 4.5 Hearts!
This is a fabulous story, interwoven with adventure and a sensual love story. There seems to be so many obstacles between Triona and Aiden, but love does conquer all. I especially enjoy the Druid aspects in this story, and some characters from previous books make their appearance and help the couple. You can read this story as a ‘stand-alone’, but I do recommend you read the whole series. This story had me captivated until the last page and even then I didn’t want it to end. I have enjoyed each and every story in this wonderful series and can highly recommend them. The characters leap from the pages, the plot reads easily and each thread is nicely tied up at the end. The romance is sweet, sensual and had me on the edge of my seat. I do hope Jean Hart Stewart will entertain us with more of this series in the near future.

Night Owl - 4 Stars!
Druid in Flight is an interesting read, well written and easy flowing it was fun and thought provoking. It is hard to describe this story, it is unlike most books that I have read. Not in a bad way, in a very good way. It was easy to read, and keeps your interest. I do not know when I have read a Druid style book quite like this. If this is any indication of the type of writing that Jean Hart Steward does I am looking forward to finding more books by her.

Upon the death of their sister, Catriona and Conor must run for their lives from their brother-in-law, Fergus. An evil man at heart, Triona’s sister wasn’t cold in her grave before Fergus tried to have his way with Triona. After escaping from him, they ran to their cousin’s house in Wales. When they heard the story of all that had transpired, Sianna and Jamie both insisted they must stay with them in Wales so that they will be able to help protect them. Will she be able to keep her brother safe?

Aiden is a good friend to both Sianna and Jamie. When two rag-tag “boys” show up on their doorstep, he is convinced they are up to no good. When he finds out they are truly the cousins of dear sweet Sianna, he is upset about the way he treated them but not sure how to proceed. Finding himself attracted to Triona is not helping him any either. After a disastrous relationship in his past, he has no intention of ever becoming romantically involved with anyone again. He feels the need to keep his mother safe from his father also. Will he be able to help keep his mother safe?

They are each convinced that the other has no interest in them. How wrong can either of them be. It seems as if neither of them notice how much they like each other. As they are thrown together more and more, things start to heat up. Will they ever figure out that they are destined to be together, or will the people they are trying to protect be all that they can see?

Bitten by Books
Catriona and her 13-year brother, Conor, have come to Ireland to care for their ill sister, Ellen. Ellen is married to a brutal, but well-to-do and powerful man, Fergus. Ellen passes away, and on the evening of her funeral, Fergus tries to attack Catriona. Conor rushes in to rescue Catriona, breaking Fergus’s arm in the process. They are forced to run from Fergus’s revenge.

Catriona is of Druid heritage and has a special affinity with winged creatures. The birds protect and comfort her during the many trials, and she, in turn, composes their song on her beloved flute. She and Conor escape to Wales and her cousin’s home. Her cousin is also a Druid and an incomparable artist. Catriona knows there is no safety there and that Fergus will find them. What she doesn’t expect is that she will find love as well.

Druid in Flight is an engaging tale, filled with the prose and artistry one hopes to find in a Celtic setting. I also found it particularly interesting that the story was set in the 1930’s, when Hitler and Mussolini were rising, and how the author smoothly incorporated the uncertainly and cruelty of that time into the book. The inter-play among the characters was very well done. Although Druid in Flight is part of the Garland of Druids series (book 8 ), it stood up well as a stand-alone book, and I didn’t feel as if I were missing essential connections or past history. The book is a light, non-demanding read and just the thing for a brief escape away from reality; more of a dessert book than a heavy meal.

All books in the Garland of Druids series
can be read as a stand alone book.
