Who were the Druids?
Druids were the philosopher class of the ancient Celts. They were the law-givers, the judges, the learned priests. The elite. Mages were the Wizards of the Druids.

What are Bards?
The bards transmitted Druid history and lore through singing. They traveled from settlement to settlement and were always welcome. A class next to the priests. Merlin was the most famous Bard.

Were they a widespread people?
Yes. At the height of their power (around the third century BC) Celtic culture stretched across Europe from Ireland to modern Turkey.

What happened to them?
Julius Caesar marched from Rome to The British Isles, eliminating most of the Druids on the way. He regarded Druids as a pagan threat against the organized religion of Rome.

Are there many Druids today?
Definitely, and more than you think. Strongholds are the western shore of the British Isles, and Brittany, in France, but they are still spread in colonies across Europe.

Did the Druids build Stonehenge?
This is what almost everyone asks me the minute I say Druids. Answer, No, Stonehenge was built by a sun cult at least a thousand years before known records of the Druids.
